Habitats Unit for Second Grade

Description

Make learning about habitats engaging and interactive with this Google Slides resource! This is a virtual resource and can be used in the classroom or with virtual learners.

I split this unit up into 5 parts:

1. Classify parts of a habitat as living or nonliving.
   • nonfiction text discussion questions, picture activities, and a sort
2. Describe basic elements of an animal’s habitat.

3. Explain interdependence.
   • nonfiction texts, discussion questions, real-life prompts, picture activities, craftivity
4. Describe how seasonal changes affect plants and animals.
   • nonfiction texts, sorts, labeling, and real-life photos
5. Describe how elements in a habitat are influenced by humans and nature.
   • nonfiction texts with real-life picture examples, discussion questions, written response questions

There are written “I can” statements that you can use as mini-posters for this unit as well as a detailed teacher’s guide where I give you some tips on how to use this product and how I used it with my students.
